THE OPPORTUNITY:

Get Recruited is partnering with a small independent brokerage in Dudley to recruit an SME Account Handler as the team grows.

For an SME Account Handler or Commercial Account Handler who enjoys looking after clients and working closely with colleagues, this offers a role where your experience and ideas can make a difference.

THE SME ACCOUNT HANDLER ROLE:

Building on your experience as an SME Account Handler or Commercial Account Handler, you'll:

  Maintain regular contact with existing SME commercial clients, understanding their businesses and reviewing whether their insurance continues to meet their needs.

  
  


• 
  

  Ask relevant questions and assess client requirements, identifying changes in their circumstances or potential gaps in cover.

  
  


• 
  

  Respond to customer enquiries clearly and promptly, maintaining agreed service standards and keeping clients informed.

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with Account Executives and fellow handlers to coordinate activity and deliver a consistent service.

  
  


• 
  

  Identify appropriate opportunities to sell or cross-sell insurance products where they meet a client's needs.

  
  


• 
  

  Keep files, notes and policy records clear, accurate and up to date so colleagues can provide continuity during absences.

  
  


• 
  

  Organise your workload effectively, balancing ongoing client contact with administration and outstanding actions.

  
  


• 
  

  Follow FCA requirements and internal procedures, maintaining accurate documentation throughout.

  
  

THE PERSON:

• 
  

  Experience as an SME Account Handler, SME Account Handler or Commercial Account Handler within SME commercial insurance.

  
  


• 
  

  Able to understand client needs and explain insurance information clearly.

  
  


• 
  

  Confident building relationships with customers, colleagues and external contacts.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong telephone, written and verbal communication skills.

  
  


• 
  

  Organised and able to manage your own workload.

  
  


• 
  

  Comfortable identifying suitable sales and cross-selling opportunities.

  
  


• 
  

  A collaborative approach and an interest in developing your insurance career.

  
  

Whether you're currently an SME Account Handler or Commercial Account Handler, you'll need relevant SME insurance experience and a commitment to looking after clients properly.
