Location: Stevenage, UK


Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Responsible Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to lead and assure quality excellence in processes and products for our Stevenage EOS project.

This role ensures that our Spacecraft Integration, Processes, and Methods are managed according to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Quality Assurance Leadership: Lead QA activities, ensuring proper implementation of procedures and processes to meet product quality requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Drive prevention and quality improvements in Spacecraft Production processes.

  • Team Management: Operationally lead the project quality team, prioritize workloads, and escalate issues as needed.

  • Corrective Actions: Manage completion of corrective and preventative actions to closure.

  • Non-Conformance Management: Efficiently manage non-conformance and reduce the cost of non-quality.

  • Satellite QA Deputy Opportunities: Act as the focal point and coordinator for Quality Assurance in the Satellite business line, if required.


Detailed Responsibilities:



  • Quality Surveillance Plan: Develop and maintain a Quality Surveillance Plan (QSP) per project requirements.

  • Inspection Processes: Define inspection processes, request additional inspections as needed, and chair gates reviews.

  • Inspection Planning: Elaborate Key Inspection Plans and support Mandatory Inspection Plans.

  • Production Integrity: Review production work instructions to ensure product quality requirements are met.

  • Non-Conformance Resolution: Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensure closure actions are implemented, and chair Internal Review Boards (IRB).

  • Risk Analysis: Conduct risk analyses (including PFMEA) and implement preventive actions.

  • Audits: Perform flash and process audits, ensuring lessons learned and near-miss actions are implemented.

  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular quality briefs, performance dialogues, and monthly reports on Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Quality Initiatives: Deploy and drive the company's Quality improvement and cost reduction plans, and foster a quality mindset within the team.

  • Additional Responsibilities as MPF QA Deputy: Represent Spacecraft Production Quality in decision forums, manage ECWP QA costs, drive the bid process, and promote a collaborative culture within the Satellite QA team.


Qualifications:



  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance, particularly in the aerospace or space sector.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and prioritize team workloads.

  • Excellent understanding of quality standards and procedures.

  • Ability to drive process improvements and manage non-conformances.

  • Strong communication skills for effective team collaboration and reporting.
