BI Developer

£55,000 - £60,000 + Hybrid Working + Superb Benefits

Building on sustained commercial growth, an exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced and entrepreneurial BI Developer to drive the further expansion of our client's business intelligence systems.

The successful candidate will join a leading supplier of textile accessory brands to the business-to-business personalisation industry in a broad ranging, highly rewarding role.



As the home of four leading textile brands, each with their own unique identity and philosophy, our client has established themselves as the go-to brand for quality, innovative products in the rebrandable accessories market.
Working closely with the IT Manager, IT Team, Board Members, Senior Managers and adjacent teams, the BI Developer, who will have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, will draw on their wider knowledge of the Power BI platform to develop, maintain and enhance interactive applications, dashboards, and reports, using products such as Power BI and SSRS.



Previous knowledge of the textiles or garment industry is not required.

However, experience of working with multiple data sets within a B2B, SME environment would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities



  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing interactive applications, dashboards, and reports, using appropriate products such as Power BI and SSRS.

  • Identifying the best products to deliver requirements.

  • Identifying the location of data and determining accuracy, relevance, and reliability, highlighting any concerns to appropriate colleagues.

  • Undertaking testing and validation of reported data against source.

  • Collaborating with other team members to improve governance, to develop standards and improve efficiency.



Skills & Experience



  • Proven BI development experience.

  • A detailed understanding of SQL, indexes, views functions and stored procedures.

  • Proficiency in data modelling and writing SQL, DAX, and Power Query.

  • Experience in the SSRS reporting tools.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

  • Knowledge of MS Access and VBA would be desirable.

  • MS Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.

  • The ideal candidate will probably hold a bachelor's degree.

  • Industry certifications in relevant subjects (Power BI, SSRS, etc.) are desirable.
