Logistics Coordinator

£24,500 + Hybrid Working + Great Benefits

IRS are the largest single provider of radiation protection and associated services to users of ionising and non-ionising radiations.

Working closely with the NHS and private hospital sectors, their customer base also includes veterinary and dental practitioners, small individual and large group practices, as well as security, industrial and education sector organisations.

In order to deliver a proactive and professional first-line customer service, an engaging and methodical Logistics Coordinator is required to join the IRS team.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for coordinating survey and/or consultancy visits to customer premises.

Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will be expected to perform a range of administrative tasks with the ultimate aim of providing a seamless service for colleagues and customers alike.

All necessary training will be provided to the candidate that can demonstrate a warm, engaging personality with the ability to deliver a fully rounded coordination service.

Key Responsibilities



  • Acts as main customer liaison for nominated sites regarding all site visits

  • Efficiently coordinates survey and/or consultancy visits to all nominated customers, including the coordination of logistics staff (e.g., Surveyor or Consultant)

  • Acts as first point of contact for all Ad Hoc customer visits

  • Creates Contract Amendments for any visits required that fall outside the scope of a customer's contract

  • Generates and issues quotations for specified work (e.g., Critical Examinations, Ad Hoc work for existing customer base)

  • Provides first-line customer service support for Logistics queries via telephone and e-mail.

    This includes monitoring a shared inbox daily

  • Records all relevant queries on the IRS CE database




Skills & Experience



  • Previous experience of multi-tasking in a customer service role requiring a high degree of organisational skill

  • A professional and engaging telephone manner

  • The ability to compose professional, informative emails

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Any experience of providing quotes would be desirable, but is not essential

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Able to pivot quickly in response to changing priorities

  • An understanding of scientific terminology - desirable
