They are currently seeking a dynamic Finance Manager.

Overview

Reporting to the Managing Director (MD), this hands-on, fully rounded role offers a talented finance professional the opportunity to grow and learn.

As a small company, this role involves managing the finances end-to-end, with input from the MD.

Key Responsibilities


  • Preparing all month-end reports
  • Ensuring accurate P&L reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Collaborating with the MD on margin checks and monthly report commentary
  • Handling day-to-day bookkeeping
  • Managing invoicing and purchase invoicing as needed
  • Preparing and posting month-end journals
  • Compiling accruals and prepayments
  • Overseeing credit control, including chasing and monitoring debtor accounts
  • Managing audits and resolving discrepancies
  • Validating new supplier setups and change requests
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns for the UK and other jurisdictions as required
  • Managing creditors and payments
  • Handling payroll
  • Filing CT returns and accounts at Companies House
  • Assisting the MD with budgeting, forecasting, and updating the financial model as needed
  • Performing ad hoc commercial finance tasks to analyse activity
  • Conducting filing and other ad hoc tasks as required

Candidate Profile


  • Experience managing the financial accounting process in a small business that holds stock
  • Preferably e-commerce or consumer retail finance experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical approach to work
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to and manage changes in working practices

Systems and Essentials


  • Part-qualified or having started accounting studies if a finance graduate
  • Good to excellent Excel and general IT skills
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (Jet reports experience is a bonus)
