Hybrid Senior Design Engineer

A hybrid Senior Design Engineer is needed at a well-established structural steel company with locations in Glasgow, Greater Manchester, Shropshire, and Bristol.

This role offers the flexibility to work from any of these offices.

Salary Rate: £65,000 per annum plus package
Hybrid Working Model: Flexibility for work-from-home (WFH)

Responsibilities include:



  • Lead bridge engineering projects from concept to completion; conduct structural analysis and design for various bridge types; prepare and review technical documents; provide guidance to project managers and team members.

  • Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables; coordinate with clients and stakeholders; oversee construction phases as needed to ensure adherence to design specifications.

  • Mentor junior engineers; enhance their skills through guidance and workshops; promote technical competency within the team.

  • Perform quality reviews of engineering calculations, designs, and documents; adhere to quality control procedures; follow engineering standards and regulations.

  • Stay updated on advancements in bridge engineering; engage in professional development; work towards achieving professional accreditation with ICE or IStructE.


Qualifications:



  • Advanced qualification (master's degree preferred; minimum bachelor's degree/foundation degree/HNC/HND) in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • Working towards or close to achieving professional accreditation with ICE or IStructE.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in bridge engineering.

  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AEC RSA, MIDAS, IDEA StatiCa).

  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to travel and work on-site as required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

  • Location: Glasgow, Wigan, Shrewsbury, or Bristol

  • Travel: Required to offices and various sites as needed

  • Hours: 9am to 5pm, 37.5 hours per week, subject to business needs
