Estimator

An established structural steel fabrication company based in Staffordshire is seeking an experienced estimator to join their team immediately.

Package: £45,000 - £50,000, pension, 21 days holidays, free parking
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Value of Packages Estimating: £1-15 million

Duties:

• Prepare tenders for structural steel and cladding projects.


• Collate and analyze tender information, including drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.


• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.


• Communicate effectively with design teams, main contractors, and clients.


• Collaborate with the Estimating Manager and other departments to prepare estimates.


• Verify all work elements and identify Value Engineering options.


• Manage tender documentation and ensure accurate cost estimation.


• Prepare project budgets and handover documentation.


• Use Excel and Word proficiently; experience with Navisworks and Tekla is a plus.


• Visit sites to assess conditions and prepare proposals.


• Engage with clients and contractors to secure orders.

Qualifications:

• 5 years' experience in structural steel estimating.


• Experience with multi-story projects is required.


• Familiarity with the UK steel construction industry is preferred.


• Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills.


• Demonstrated leadership and attention to detail.


• Excellent organizational and negotiation skills.
