Environmental Health Officer

A client within the Public Sector based in Bury is currently recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer to join their team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within an Environmental Health environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to carry out the five-yearly risk assessments with associated sampling for 12 x Regulation 10 and 5 x Regulation 9 Private Water Supplies in accordance with The Private Water Supplies (England) Regulations 2016 as amended.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Conducting risk assessments and associated sampling in accordance with European standard EN 15975-2, entitled “Security of Drinking Water Supply - Guidelines for Risk and Crisis Management - Risk Management.”


• Ensuring compliance with The Private Water Supplies (England) Regulations 2016 as amended.


• Potentially carrying out enforcement work following the risk assessment and sampling process.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require:

• Significant recent working experience of Private Water Supply regulation.


• Experience in risk assessments and sampling in accordance with the relevant regulations and European standards.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• Strong understanding of regulatory enforcement procedures.


• Excellent report writing and data analysis skills.


• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx.

£25 per hour PAYE).
