About the role/school

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive community primary in Balham.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is full-time and starts ASAP, providing an excellent opportunity to support children with additional needs in a nurturing environment.


The school serves children from nursery age through to 11 years old and offers a broad curriculum alongside extended day provisions.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work within a diverse setting with strong community engagement, parent involvement, and a wide range of support structures designed to promote academic progress and personal development.

This role is ideal for a SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a positive impact on children's learning and wellbeing.



Job Responsibilities


  • Support pupils with special educational needs as a SEN Teaching Assistant




  • Assist with classroom activities and one-to-one or small group interventions




  • Promote inclusion, wellbeing, and positive behaviour in the school environment




  • Help implement educational programmes under the guidance of teachers




  • Contribute to pupils' personal, social, and academic development as a committed SEN Teaching Assistant





Qualifications/Experience


  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar support role in a primary setting




  • Knowledge of strategies to support children with additional needs




  • Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills




  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service




  • Right to work in the UK
