Site Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join a major construction project in Denmark.

This is a site-based role focused on setting out, quality control, and technical coordination across large-scale construction works.

The role suits an engineer who enjoys being hands-on on site, working closely with planners, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately, and to specification in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities


  • Set out works in line with drawings, specifications, and site surveys
  • Ensure dimensional accuracy, tolerances, and quality standards are met
  • Coordinate with planning and construction teams to align schedules and sequencing
  • Inspect works and materials to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Manage RFIs and technical queries with subcontractors and consultants
  • Maintain quality records, site diaries, and progress reports
  • Review subcontractor drawings and construction outputs
  • Support inspections, testing, snagging, and handover activities
  • Assist with site facilities, deliveries, and material tracking
  • Promote safe working practices and review method statements
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
  • Support measurement, valuation, and reporting with the commercial team

Required Experience


  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience in civil or construction engineering
  • Strong setting-out experience using total stations, lasers, and surveying equipment
  • Good understanding of drainage, reinforcement, concrete, and structural works
  • Experience across multiple trades (substructures, superstructures, facades, piling)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Clear communicator with strong reporting and coordination skills

Desirable Experience


  • Experience on large-scale or complex projects (data centres, industrial, infrastructure)
  • Exposure to BIM, digital construction tools, or 3D scanning
  • Knowledge of temporary works coordination
  • Ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders

Qualifications

Essential


  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering (or similar)
  • SMSTS (or equivalent)
  • First Aid certification
  • Lifting Supervisor certification
  • Temporary Works training

Desirable


  • Project Management qualification
  • Experience with planning software
  • Professional chartership (or working towards)
