Restaurant General Manager

A high-volume, all-day restaurant operation in Oxford is looking for a Senior Restaurant Manager to lead from the front.

This is a fast-paced, premium environment with multiple revenue streams including restaurant dining, private events and terrace service.

The role suits someone hands-on, commercially sharp and confident managing large teams while maintaining high standards across service and guest experience.

The role:

• Lead daily operations across a busy, multi-faceted restaurant environment
• Be highly visible on the floor - driving standards, service and energy across every shift
• Build, coach and develop a strong management and front of house team
• Take full ownership of guest experience, resolving feedback and driving repeat business
• Manage rotas, staffing levels and recruitment to meet business demand
• Oversee reservations strategy to maximise covers without compromising quality
• Control stock, wastage and costs across bar and restaurant operations
• Work closely with the kitchen team to align on service, standards and performance
• Run structured team briefings and regular performance reviews
• Monitor financial performance and drive profitability across all areas
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety and operational procedures

The person:

• Proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager or similar in a high-volume setting
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and hold teams accountable
• Commercially aware with solid understanding of cost control and revenue optimisation
• Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
• Passionate about hospitality, food and guest experience
• Detail-focused with high personal standards
• Comfortable managing large teams and multiple service styles
• Resilient, hands-on and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
