Technical Sales Representative - Test & Measurement - Italy

Redline Group is partnered with a global leader in electronics distribution and technology solutions that is looking for a technically minded professional to transition into a commercial Technical Sales role, supporting the growth of a key Electronics Instrumentation partner across the Italian market.

Based from the company's Milan office on a hybrid basis, this is an excellent opportunity for an Electronics Engineer, Applications Engineer, Field Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar technical professional who is looking to take the next step into technical sales and business development.

You will be joining a highly collaborative, international sales environment, working with customers across Italy and gaining exposure to leading Test & Measurement technologies and solutions.

As a Technical Sales Representative, you will use your existing technical understanding of electronics, software and instrumentation to identify customer requirements, develop new relationships and uncover commercial opportunities.

You will work closely with internal sales and technical teams, building your commercial skillset while continuing to leverage your technical expertise.

This role would particularly suit someone who has a strong technical background, but is now looking to move away from a purely technical position and build a long-term career in technical sales, business development and account management.

Key Responsibilities for Technical Sales Representative - Test & Measurement:

• Develop new business and increase market share across Italy


• Identify and qualify new customer and commercial opportunities


• Use your technical understanding to understand customer requirements and identify appropriate solutions


• Build and develop relationships with engineers, technical stakeholders and commercial decision-makers


• Manage and grow an active, unassigned customer base


• Work closely with internal sales, applications and technical teams to maximise opportunities


• Support key accounts and larger commercial opportunities


• Develop a strong understanding of Test & Measurement products and their applications


• Progress opportunities through the sales process from initial engagement through to conversion


• Maintain accurate pipeline information and provide regular reporting

Key experience / skills for Technical Sales Representative - Test & Measurement:

• Technical education or experience within Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Test & Measurement, Instrumentation or a similar discipline


• Experience in a technical environment such as Electronics Engineering, Field Engineering, Technical Support, Engineering or similar


• Some exposure to customers, sales, business development or commercially focused activities would be advantageous


• A genuine interest in moving into a technical/commercial role


• Strong understanding of electronics, instrumentation or Test & Measurement


• Fluent Italian and English communication skills


• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with technical and commercial stakeholders


• Commercially curious, proactive and motivated to develop a career in sales


• Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working in an international environment
