Derivatives Operations
Our client, a financial services firm in Glasgow, is looking to appoint a Derivatives Clearing Client Service professional on a 12-month contract basis, to join their Operations function.
The Operations function is responsible for the accurate settlement and recording of high volumes of transactions, identifying and mitigating operational risk, building strong client relationships and working with technology teams to make the most of IT and automation.
It works with all parts of the business, with an emphasis on people development, collaboration, learning and open communication.
In this role you will interact with cleared derivatives clients as well as colleagues in Operations and partner teams.
The team's primary responsibility is to ensure all client queries are addressed promptly, triaging to the correct teams when necessary.
This calls for an understanding of the front-to-back trade flow, including assisting with the resolution of trade breaks, monitoring cash activity in the account and ensuring that the account is fully margined.
Skills/Experience:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Adaptability to change, with the ability to work on many different jobs at once.
- A keen interest in transformation and the use of tools and technology to improve operational efficiency and enhance the client experience.
- Knowledge of Listed Derivatives and/or OTC Clearing would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Trade life cycle knowledge.
- Proven client service experience would be an advantage, but is not essential, ideally within a financial services or operational environment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day client queries, proactively navigating the organisation to deliver timely and effective resolutions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across Operations, Risk, Technology and other partner teams.
- Identify and escalate exceptions appropriately, demonstrating a solid understanding of key risks and controls and a strong appreciation of client confidentiality requirements.
- Own and maintain the client feedback process, sharing insights with team supervisors to highlight service improvements and opportunities to streamline or automate manual processes.
- Support the wider team through the completion of non-client-facing administrative and operational tasks, as required.
