Our client is an interior design company creating high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial spaces across Europe.

They blend creative vision with technical precision, delivering exceptional interiors for villas, boutique hotels, restaurants, and retail environments.

They are now looking to strengthen their team with a skilled Technical Designer to bridge the gap between design and execution.

The Role

The successful candidate will take creative concepts and turn them into precise, coordinated technical documentation that contractors and workshops can build from — working closely with designers, project managers, and suppliers from concept through to installation.

Key responsibilities:

• Produce detailed technical drawings: plans, elevations, sections, and joinery/shop drawings
• Develop construction documentation for FF&E and bespoke furniture packages
• Coordinate drawings with MEP, structural, and architectural consultants
• Prepare material schedules, finishes boards, and installation documentation
• Review site conditions and resolve technical design issues during construction
• Ensure drawings comply with local building regulations and standards
• Support the design team with 3D modelling and visualisation as needed

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree or diploma in interior design, architecture, or a related technical field
• At least 3 years of experience in interior technical design or architectural drafting (studio or contractor side)
• Strong knowledge of software tools such as AutoCAD, 3ds Max, and MEAM360; proficiency in SketchUp and/or Revit is a plus
• Strong knowledge of materials used in interior design (finishes, fabrics, stone, wood, metals, composites) and how to use and apply them correctly
• Solid understanding of construction methods and joinery detailing
• Familiarity with Maltese building regulations (or willingness to learn quickly)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Fluency in English; any other language is an asset
