Harper May is working with an independent asset management business managing £3bn+ in AUM across multiple strategies.

The firm is founder-led, headquartered in London, and has grown steadily over the past five years through a combination of organic growth and selective fund launches.

As the business scales and its fund range expands, the finance function is expanding to support more complex reporting and operational oversight.

They are now seeking a Management Accountant to strengthen financial control and management information capability.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own the monthly close process, deliver management accounts with supporting commentary, and support the budgeting and forecasting cycles.

This is a hands-on role with direct exposure to senior investment and operational leaders.

You will work in a regulated environment where accuracy and timeliness are non-negotiable.

• Produce monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Support annual budget and quarterly reforecasting processes across the business
• Maintain control over fund-level accounting and performance reporting
• Prepare statutory and regulatory reporting packs, including FCA submissions where relevant
• Monitor operating expenses and support cost tracking against approved budgets
• Work with external auditors during year-end audit and ad-hoc compliance reviews
• Identify improvements to financial reporting processes and internal controls

What we are looking for

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or actively studying towards a relevant qualification
• Prior experience in asset management, investment banking, or regulated financial services
• Confident with month-end close, management accounts, and financial analysis
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, pivot tables, and data handling
• Methodical and detail-oriented; comfortable with tight deadlines and regulatory requirements
• Comfortable presenting financial data to senior stakeholders and non-finance colleagues
