Contract Senior Structural Engineer
A well-established firm of London based civil and structural engineers requires an experienced Senior Structural Engineer for a minimum 6 month Outside IR35 contract assignment.
Our client undertakes a mix of work to include the design of major RC and steel frame residential and commercial buildings developments. Due to a number of significant project wins our client needs external contractor help and can offer a long term assignment.
The successful applicant will need to have a minimum of 10 years industry experience and be able to demonstrate and excellent track record of building design work in the UK. Due to the fast paced nature of our clients work you will need to have excellent organisational and communication skills. Excellent hands on technical design capabilities are a necessity for this role.
On offer is a rate of between £45-50 p/h experience dependant. Our client will require 2-3 days in the office on a weekly basis.

A well-established award winning multi-disciplinary consultancy has an immediate requirement for an experienced senior level mechanical design engineer to join their design team in their Edinburgh office.
The successful candidate will be responsible, under the leadership of the Director/Associate Director, for the project management of medium to large scale projects and individual engineering task(s) for numerous schemes for client's cross sector.

They are seeking established building services engineering candidates who have been working within building services and specifically building services consultancy with at least Ten [10] years post graduate 'hands on' design experience.
The candidate should be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with either the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and possess a building services/architectural engineering degree and/or masters.
Accreditation via an appropriate Institution i.e.
CIBSE under an Energy Assessor Scheme for the production and lodgement of non-domestic Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)'s for both new build and existing (refurbishment) buildings is desirable.
The candidate for this position will have a high level of computer literacy a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Autodesk Revit MEP, Cymap and ideally EDSL Tas.
The successful candidate will be a required to provide support to our other teams and/or offices from time to time.

They are looking for an ambitious engineer who can help the practice develop and grow so there would be a lot of client liaison and business development involved.
You know how to prepare conceptual schemes and develop these into detailed design packages.
Communication is key and you will be responsible for establishing / maintaining relationships with architects, contractors and clients to encourage repeat business.
You will also carry out feasibility studies, condition surveys and site inspections.
You would Implement and manage QA systems and procedures on all projects and ensure all design respond to CDM regulations.

The Opportunity
An established Building Services consultancy is looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing London team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the commercial, residential, hotel and student accommodation sectors, supporting the delivery of innovative, sustainable and technically robust electrical designs from concept through to completion.
You'll work alongside experienced Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health and Sustainability Engineers within a collaborative consultancy environment, gaining exposure to a wide range of projects while continuing your professional development.
The Role
As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of electrical building services design, including:
- Producing electrical designs across RIBA Stages 1-5.
- Designing lighting, small power and low voltage electrical systems.
- Carrying out electrical calculations and preparing technical specifications.
- Assisting with power distribution design and system coordination.
- Coordinating with Mechanical, Public Health and other design disciplines.
- Attending design meetings and supporting project delivery.
- Working closely with senior engineers to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Contributing to sustainable and cost-effective engineering designs.
About You
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- Experience working within a Building Services consultancy.
- A solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
- Experience delivering projects through all RIBA design stages, ideally Stages 1-5.
- Exposure to sectors such as commercial offices, residential, hotels and student accommodation.
- Experience using industry software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Amtech, Elec OM, Dialux and/or Relux.
- An Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering degree (or equivalent).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Progress towards IEng or CEng status would be advantageous.

Applications are also welcomed from Senior Electrical Design Engineers.
