They operate a busy retail operation and are looking to expand their FP&A team.

The commercial finance manager will ensure that the company's financial health is robust and that strategic decisions are informed by thorough financial analysis.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the business's financial future and ensuring its operational and financial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

    • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
    • Conduct variance analysis to understand performance drivers and provide actionable insights.

  • Business Partnering:

    • Collaborate with department heads and senior management to drive financial performance.
    • Provide financial advice and support to various business units, including marketing, sales, and operations.
    • Work closely with the sales team to analyse customer profitability and product margins.

  • Reporting & Analytics:

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for executive management and the board of directors.
    • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance.
    • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.

  • Financial Control & Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies.
    • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and coordinate audits.

  • Strategic Initiatives:

    • Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration processes.
    • Support financial projects to drive cost optimization and process improvements.
    • Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with business operations.


The successful candidate:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the retail industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
