Looking for an exciting role where you can make a real difference in managing tenancies and supporting thriving communities?




THE ROLE
As a Tenancy Management Officer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality tenancy and void management services for a defined portfolio of properties in Oxford.
Responsibilities include:



  • Acting as the first point of contact for tenants, members, and council services regarding council-owned residential properties.

  • Managing tenancy agreements, changes, terminations, and enforcing tenancy conditions.

  • Handling void properties efficiently to maximise rental income and minimise costs.

  • Collaborating with external support providers and council services to ensure excellent customer care.

  • Leading on legal proceedings, including preparing case files and representing the council in court.

  • Addressing tenant welfare and safeguarding issues in line with council policies.

  • Supporting tenants during emergencies, such as fires or floods, and arranging alternative accommodation.

  • Managing and utilising estate improvement budgets effectively.




THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within a local authority or registered provider housing management environment.
You will also have:



  • Experience managing a diverse customer base, including vulnerable tenants with complex needs.

  • Knowledge of current landlord and tenant legislation, guidance, best practice, and case law.

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage a high workload.

  • Excellent communication skills, including letter and report writing.

  • Mobility to undertake site visits, property inspections, and provide hands-on support across Oxford.




THE CONTRACT
Temporary ongoing
Full-time - 37 hours per week
Hybrid working
The pay rate for the role is £25.00 per hour LTD company rate.

The PAYE equivalent is £21.31 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
