About the role/school

Teach Plus are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Park Royal.

Catering for children aged 3-11, this school is part of Brent local authority and serves a highly diverse community.

With nearly 930 pupils on roll, including a nursery, the school has been recognised for its inclusive practice and is judged “Good” by Ofsted.

The curriculum is broad and balanced, with high expectations for all pupils academically, socially, and morally.

Facilities are well-resourced, creating an excellent environment for both pupils and staff.

Job Responsibilities

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:




  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs.




  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver targeted interventions.




  • Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of pupils, ensuring inclusion and progress.




  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour strategies.




  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.




The role of SEN Teaching Assistant is vital in supporting children to reach their potential and thrive within the school community.


Qualifications/Experience

To be successful as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:




  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within a primary school.




  • Strong knowledge of strategies to support children with autism, ADHD, or speech & language needs.




  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.




  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service




  • Right to work in the UK
