Surface Analyst

We are currently looking for a scientist/engineer to join a leading company based in the Loughborough area.

The company is an independent analytical laboratory, providing a variety of surface analytical techniques to support academic researchers and industrial companies.

As a Surface Analyst you will be responsible for running analytical instruments, supporting clients' needs and solving their problems, whilst developing your own understanding of surface analytical techniques.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as a Surface Analyst will be varied, however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1.

You will be fully trained and will specialise in a variety of surface analytical techniques including Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) and SEM/EDX.

2.

You will work with clients to solve their problems using the techniques listed above, providing analysis to an exceptional standard, demonstrating a good understanding of the work and exhibiting a high level of attention to detail.

3.

You will be flexible with working around the clients' requirements.

This will include occasionally working weekends.

4.

You will demonstrate a hard work ethic.



ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as a Surface Analyst we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1.

Relevant degree in the Physical Sciences, Engineering or a related discipline.



2.

A working knowledge of vacuum-based techniques would be an advantage.
