Reports To: Test Team Leader


Role Overview:
The Test Engineer - Assistant Team Leader will conduct functional and system testing on MOD and commercial equipment, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and standards.

The role involves collaborating with project teams, managing testing resources, monitoring costs and schedules, and maintaining quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Conduct testing of electrical and electronic assemblies.

  • Manage safety documentation and HV switching standards.

  • Liaise with Engineering for test parameter influence.

  • Plan and optimize testing resources and productivity.

  • Lead project meetings and monitor cost and progress.

  • Uphold company integrity and transparency.


Qualifications/Skills Required:



  • Understanding of health and safety legislation.

  • Relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Ability to interpret manufacturing information and perform self-inspection.

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of ISO9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and continuous improvement processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.


Qualifications:



  • GCSE Grade C/4 in Math and English or equivalent.

  • HNC in Electrical and Electronic Technology or equivalent.

  • IPC 620 qualification or equivalent.


Preferred:



  • Apprentice trained.

  • Supervisory or Team Leader qualification.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., IFS).

  • IPC 610 qualification or equivalent.
