Principal Upstream Microbial Scientist

We are currently looking for a Principal Upstream Microbial Scientist to join a leading Research company in a Technical Leadership position.

As the Principal Upstream Microbial Scientist you will lead projects in the biologics team and be responsible to inform technical strategy and direction; applying your expert knowledge within bioprocess development of fermentation-based processes.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Principal Upstream Microbial Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1.

You will apply your technical expertise in biologics and bioprocessing (USP/DSP, analytical characterisation) to plan and execute experimental pilot scale runs and translating findings.



2.

You will apply your expert knowledge to identify new technical developments, implement technology strategy, and formulate and present solutions to a range of stakeholders nationally, and internationally.

3.

You will collaborate with the Business Development teams whilst also seeking business development opportunities, in addition to direct customer engagement for project development.

4.

You will be tasked to influence and build a network of international external stakeholders, customers and partners, and research organisations to present company's technical expertise to future growth and development.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Principal Upstream Microbial Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1.

Relevant degree in a relevant life sciences discipline.

2.

Proven industry experience leading teams in a R&D biologics environment.

3.

A working knowledge and practical experience in Bioprocessing Biologics, Upstream and Downstream Processing, and Analytical Characterisation.
