Business Development Manager (Hybrid - 2 Remote Days)

Business Development Manager, Madrid, €50,000 - €70,000

A leading international food retail company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth and spearhead strategic initiatives.

This senior role reports directly to the Managing Director and plays a crucial part in shaping the company’s future by identifying new business opportunities, fostering partnerships, and generating revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:


  • Lead business development activities and create strategic partnerships to generate new revenue.
  • Implement and drive the company’s annual business development strategy in coordination with the Managing Director and CFO.
  • Identify and capitalise on market opportunities to drive significant income growth and sector penetration.

Sales and Operations Collaboration:


  • Coordinate with sales and operations teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals for clients.
  • Oversee the entire sales process and ensure the successful execution of contracts.
  • Collaborate on launching new products and improving underperforming services.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:


  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and prospective business partners.
  • Lead presentations to both clients and internal executives, while negotiating contract terms.

Data & Performance Monitoring:


  • Track and analyse key metrics, sales performance, and insights to drive improvement.
  • Gather and analyse market and competitor data to inform business decisions.

Key Requirements:

Must-Haves:


  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a business development or sales management role within the food retail industry.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in both Spanish and English (B2 level or higher).
  • Management: Proven track record of leading and developing business development teams and achieving revenue growth.

Desired:


  • Qualifications: MBA or business-related qualifications preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong background in forecasting, data analysis, and project management.
  • Tech Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Industry Knowledge: Background in food retail or related sectors.
