Technical Superintendent

Job Title: Technical Superintendent LNG

Who are we recruiting for?


We are collaborating with a leading global maritime company dedicated to excellence in the industry.

They are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Technical Superintendent to join their dynamic team and support their efforts in managing a fleet of LNG vessels.


What will you be doing?


As a Technical Superintendent, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of LNG vessels.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Promoting and adhering to the company's vision of zero harm.

  • Managing day-to-day technical operations and performance of assigned vessels to meet safety, quality, efficiency, and environmental standards.

  • Developing, monitoring, and controlling running cost budgets to achieve goals and KPIs.

  • Identifying areas for improvement and modifications to enhance vessel performance.

  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, class, and other third-party requirements.

  • Supervising and reporting on repairs and modifications.

  • Managing all phases of the dry-docking process from initial planning to completion.

  • Contributing to improved learning transfer across the fleets.

  • Ensuring all activities, including those by third parties, comply with set HSEQ standards.

  • Visiting assigned vessels regularly and conducting appraisals of onboard ship management teams.

  • Monitoring guarantee defects and claims, ensuring repairs are closed out and reported.


Are you the ideal candidate?


The ideal candidate should possess:



  • Preferably Chief Engineer/Second Engineer experience, or a BSc/MSc in marine engineering or a similar discipline.

  • Technical skills related to ship operation and repairs.

  • Gas/LNG competence/experience is advantageous but not essential.

  • Experience as a Technical Superintendent or in a similar role is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Good command of English.

  • Eligibility for a permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway.
