Head  Engineer  – Global Beer Brand – Bedford / London - Up to £50k + Benefits

My client is one of the most popular International Beer Brands which is highly represented across the world.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Engineer to join our team at this well-known Beer company.

As a Head Engineer, you will play a critical role in the maintenance and development of our brewery's equipment and facilities.

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our brewing processes and related systems.

This role will require 4 days per week in Bedford but will includes overtime and allowances.

Head Engineer Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the maintenance and repair of brewery equipment, including brewing vessels, packaging machinery, and utilities.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and reduce production interruptions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure optimal brewery operation.
• Collaborate with production and quality control teams to ensure beer quality and consistency.
• Manage capital projects for equipment upgrades, installations, and expansions.
• Provide technical expertise for process improvement and optimization.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage the engineering budget and procurement of spare parts and equipment.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians.

The ideal Head Engineer will have:  

• Proven experience in a brewery or food and beverage manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Solid knowledge of brewery equipment and processes.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using relevant engineering software and tools.
