Teach Plus is working with an “Outstanding” school with “Outstanding” pupil behaviour stated by Ofsted.

This school is looking for a Key Stage 2 SEN Teaching Assistant in September 2024.

The school is equally ambitious about presenting new information the pupils, showing the importance of words and meaning.

The school priorities reading from early years, preparing the pupils to be fluent and confident readers.

The school offers a creative, stimulating curriculum and learning environment, encouraging pupils to be confident and socialise with their community.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be expected to:

• Have previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant from Key Stage 2 - Year 5 and 6.


• Experience with Special Needs students and be able to communicate with verbal and non-verbal students.


• Keep detailed records of the child's progress and provide regular feedback to teachers, parents, and relevant staff members.


• Aid the child in accessing the curriculum, providing differentiated instruction and support tailored to his individual learning needs.

The SEN Teaching Assistant Vacancy:

• Provide one-on-one assistance to students with SEMH needs and Challenging Behaviour, helping them engage with classroom activities and curriculum.


• Implement strategies to de-escalate situations and manage challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.


• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe and supported in the school environment.


• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons that are inclusive and accessible to students with SEMH needs and Challenging Behaviour.

The ideal candidate for a SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo one.


• Right-to-Work Documents.


• Full-time applicants only; Monday - Friday, between the hours 08:00-16:00.


• Minimum of Level 2 qualification in childcare, early years education, or a related field.


• Compassion and empathy.
