Teach Plus is working with a great school to find an Early Years Teaching Assistant.

This school has been rated “Good” by Ofsted and is looking to add to their early years support staff.

This school creates a trusting trust between the school and families, enhancing the pupils' behaviour and personal development.


The role of Early Years Teaching Assistant will include supporting children from reception to Year 2.

Candidates will play a vital role in supporting the educational, social, and emotional development of children in our primary setting.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, this role will include supporting children with SEMH needs and general support.



As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will be required to:



  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies for children with special needs, under the guidance of our SENCO and nursery management team.

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to children, assist with social skills development, and behaviour management.

  • Maintain a safe and stimulating environment for children and always adhering to safeguarding procedures and policies.

  • As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will need to monitor and record the child's progress.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the nursery, promoting respect, understanding, and acceptance among all children.



The ideal candidate for an Early Years Teaching Assistant will have:



  • Early Years Teaching Assistants will need to have experience of working with children, ideally in a nursery or early years educational setting.

  • The school is looking for a candidate with strong early years' experience and SEMH and support.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

  • Some experience supporting children with special needs, ideally knowledge of strategies for behaviour management, communication support, and sensory integration.

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo one.

  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in childcare, early years education, or a related field.
