Teach Plus is working with a welcoming primary school to find an Early Years Teaching Assistant.

This school has been rated “Good” by Ofsted and is looking to add you to their wonderful team of teaching assistants.

This school provides works hard to start to create strong readers from early years.

The school is diverse and values teaching techniques that inspire creative and independent learners.

The school prioritizes the reading level of the students, to develop their knowledge and understanding in each year.

The role of Early Years Teaching Assistant will include providing phonics interventions using the Little Wandle Phonics approach to small groups and individual students.

Candidates will play a vital role in supporting the educational, social, and emotional development of children.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, this role will include engaging students' interactive phonic activities to promote a love for reading and using positive reinforcement.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will be required to:

• Strong understanding of phonics instruction techniques, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage and motivate young learners.

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to children, assist with social skills development, and behaviour management.

• Maintain a safe and stimulating environment for children and always adhering to safeguarding procedures and policies.

• As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will maintain accurate records of student progress in phonics, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.

• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering phonics lessons, ensuring that all students are engaged and supported.

• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the nursery, promoting respect, understanding, and acceptance among all children.

The ideal candidate for an Early Years Teaching Assistant will have:

• Early Years Teaching Assistant will need to have experience of providing phonics to children, ideally in a nursery or early years educational setting.

• Proven experience in delivering phonics interventions, specifically using the Little Wandle Phonics approach.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo one.

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in childcare, early years education, or a related field.
