Steel Senior Quantity Surveyor

Senior Quantity Surveyor with steel experience needed in Greater Manchester.

Overall purpose of the role
To be responsible for the successful management and delivery of all commercial aspects of allocated project(s), ensuring that profitability and financial return to the business is maximised in a manner that does not compromise long term business relationships with clients.

Main duties & responsibilities of the role



  • Responsible for the preparation of the Authority to Proceed (ATP)

  • Responsible for the preparation of the Project Execution Plan (PEP)

  • Responsible for the preparation of departmental and project Budgets

  • Responsible for the preparation of Sub-contractors / Bought Outs Recovery Sheets

  • Responsible for the preparation of information required for the provision of Insurances / Bonds / Guarantees

  • Responsible for the inputting of HDS Project Rates

  • Responsible for the checking of the Programme against tender / POA position

  • Responsible for the preparation of HDS Measurement

  • Responsible for HDS MCDAW Analysis

  • Responsible for HDS eVENT / eNCR / Variation raising and valuation

  • Arrangement of and participation in Project Team Meetings

  • Responsible for the preparation of Client / Sub-contract Notification / EWN

  • Responsible for the preparation of Applications for Payment

  • Responsible for the preparation of Billing Schedules and Invoice Proposals

  • Responsible for the monitoring and management of retention

  • Responsible for the Commercial Close out of projects

  • Responsible for the preparation of 3 month Look Aheads

  • Responsible for the preparation Final Accounts

  • Responsible for the preparation of the Lessons Learnt document

  • Responsible for the management of Sub-contractor and Supplier Measures / Variations / Applications & Commercial Close out

  • Responsible for the preparation of the CVR & Operation and Commercial Report

  • Responsible for the preparation and management of WHI requisitions

  • To be an enthusiastic member of the Group commercial team and positively contribute to the continued development of both the commercial department and the wider business
