Gas Engineer

T People are recruiting for an experienced Gas Engineer.

Salary:                                 £48,000pa

Job Summary:

T People are seeking a qualified and experienced Gas Engineer to carry out annual gas safety checks and issue Gas Safety Certificates for social housing / residential properties.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to ensuring the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Annual Gas Safety Inspections:

• Perform comprehensive inspections of gas appliances, installations, and pipelines to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Test and check the functionality of gas appliances, such as boilers, cookers, and heaters.

Issue Gas Safety Certificates:

• Accurately complete and issue Gas Safety Certificates for compliant installations and appliances.
• Record and report any safety defects or non-compliance issues, and provide recommendations for rectification.

Maintenance and Repairs:

• Carry out necessary maintenance and repair work on gas installations and appliances as required.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

Customer Service:

• Communicate effectively with clients to explain inspection results, necessary repairs, and safety advice.
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanour at all times.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Keep up-to-date with current gas safety regulations and best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance work, and issued certificates.

Health and Safety:

• Adhere to all health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself, clients, and colleagues.
• Identify and mitigate any potential hazards encountered during inspections and repairs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Gas Safe registration (mandatory).
• Relevant qualifications in gas engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance or equivalent).

Experience:

• Proven experience in conducting gas safety inspections and issuing Gas Safety Certificates.
• Experience in maintenance and repair of gas appliances.

Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge of gas appliances, systems, and safety standards.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.

Other Requirements:

• Valid driver’s licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.
