Engineer (Principal)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Engineer to join our Flood, Risk and Infrastructure team.

You'll lead a dedicated team responsible for conducting high-quality inspections and structural assessments across various infrastructures including subways, bridges, coastal defences, and more.

In the Engineer role, you will be:

• Providing a CAT III check for all the proposed structures at Sappers/RSPB LUF projects
• Developing and implementing operational plans to achieve service objectives within budget
  
• Ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery of inspection and maintenance activities
  
• Leading and motivating the Asset Inspection, Structural Maintenance, and Gully Maintenance teams
  
• Managing financial aspects and contractual arrangements for inspection and maintenance services
  
• Communicating effectively with residents, community groups, and other stakeholders
  
• Producing comprehensive reports and support in the development of plans and policies
  

To be considered for this Engineer role, you will need:

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
  
• Professional qualification (or working towards) such as Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer.
  
• Proven experience in managing multiple projects and leading structural assessment programs.
  
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  
• Strong financial management and project management capabilities.
  

This is a temporary position for initially 5 months, working full time, 37 hours Monday to Friday based in modern offices in Colwyn bay.

This role has flexibility to travel in the County and work in a hybrid manner and from home.

You'll be starting on a salary of £24.08 per hour, plus benefits including overtime rates, weekly pay, Conwy Ffit Corporate discount, holiday pay and more.
